In a bid to fortify economic ties amidst global uncertainties, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has advocated for enhanced supply chain cooperation with Japan, particularly in advanced industries. This call to action was made during a meeting in Seoul with a Japanese business delegation headed by Yoshinobu Tsutsui, chairman of the Japan Business Federation.
President Lee underscored the pivotal role that business communities in both South Korea and Japan play in fostering economic growth. He urged for a forward-looking approach to expand bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the significance of strengthening business partnerships, promoting people-to-people exchanges, and enhancing diplomatic engagement between the two nations. Lee also pointed out that improving public sentiment towards each other could pave the way for additional economic collaboration opportunities.
Yoshinobu Tsutsui echoed the sentiment, stressing the necessity for cooperation among like-minded countries to tackle global economic challenges. He affirmed that Japanese and South Korean businesses are committed to continued collaboration to address these issues.
The Japanese delegation’s visit to Seoul was part of the 33rd annual meeting between the Japan Business Federation and South Korea’s Federation of Korean Industries.
