Thailand Clinches Bronze in Women’s Volleyball, Overcomes South Korea at Asian Games

Thailand clinched the bronze medal in women’s volleyball at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 after a decisive 3-0 victory over South Korea on Tuesday. The match, held at Park Arena Komaki, saw Thailand triumph with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-23, marking their fourth consecutive medal in the event.

South Korea initially posed a strong challenge, taking an early advantage in the first set. However, Thailand’s responsive attacks and effective serving allowed them to gain control midway and secure the set 25-20. The second set remained competitive, with Thailand overcoming a brief South Korean lead at 11-9 to finish ahead at 25-19, thanks to their strengthened offensive play.

The third set saw another spirited start from South Korea, but Thailand managed to level the score at 12-12. The teams stayed closely matched until the final moments, when a South Korean error at match point handed Thailand the set at 25-23 and the bronze medal.

This victory continues Thailand’s streak of success in Asian Games women’s volleyball, adding to their bronze medals from 2014 and 2022, and a silver from 2018. In addition to the bronze medal, Thailand’s win also secured their spot in the women’s volleyball tournament at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, following their victory at the 2026 Asian championship.
