Zelensky Claims 47 Nations’ Fighters Join Russia in Ukraine Conflict

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of enlisting individuals from 47 different countries to bolster its military efforts in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine. Addressing the United Nations, Zelensky highlighted the involvement of citizens from nations such as Ghana, Nepal, and India, emphasizing Russia’s reliance on foreign fighters.

In a striking revelation, Zelensky mentioned that two North Korean soldiers captured while fighting for Russia have been relocated to South Korea. He pointed to an increasing military collaboration between Russia and North Korea, warning that Moscow is actively seeking additional manpower and resources for its campaign.

Amidst these concerns, Zelensky outlined Ukraine’s efforts to enhance its defense capabilities through international partnerships. He announced that Kyiv has reached agreements on drone technology with Finland and Australia and is in the process of negotiating a similar deal with Canada. These collaborations aim to strengthen Ukraine’s strategic position in the ongoing conflict.

Furthermore, Zelensky issued a warning regarding potential Ukrainian strikes on Russian heating and energy facilities if attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure persist. This statement came as the United States urged both Russia and Ukraine to avoid targeting each other’s energy infrastructure. Zelensky clarified that any Ukrainian actions would focus on reducing Moscow’s war revenues rather than affecting civilian fuel supplies.
