Putin Denies Russia Preparing for Conflict Amid Ongoing Ukraine Strikes

Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed concerns from European NATO members about Moscow preparing for conflict, stating that Russia has no intention of escalating tensions with Europe. He criticized claims suggesting that Russia is gearing up for hostilities against European countries.

In a recent statement, Putin mentioned that Russia is contemplating whether to resume peace negotiations with Ukraine after recent incidents involving Ukrainian attacks on Russian soil. He emphasized that Moscow would thoroughly evaluate its next moves before deciding on a possible return to the negotiating table.

Despite these diplomatic considerations, Russian airstrikes in Ukraine have persisted, causing significant casualties and damage. A recent attack in Kyiv resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including a 14-year-old boy, and left dozens injured.

Furthermore, the ongoing conflict has prompted ArcelorMittal to halt operations at Ukraine’s largest steel plant. The facility suffered repeated damage from Russian strikes, leading to worker fatalities and exacerbating the economic challenges Ukraine faces amid the war.
