Swiss athlete Audrey Werro delivered an impressive performance at the Ultimate Championships in Budapest, triumphing in the women’s 800m race. She clinched the top spot ahead of Britain’s Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson, securing a $150,000 prize. Werro, 22, clocked a time of 1:55.88, while Hodgkinson finished in second place with a time of 1:56.26. Femke Broeders-Bol completed the race in third. From the outset, Werro established her lead and maintained it, accelerating decisively over the final 300 meters. This victory marked the culmination of an extraordinary season for Werro, who has won 14 out of her 15 outdoor races, solidifying her status as a top contender in the 800m discipline.

Despite these challenges, her second-place finish demonstrated her resilience and competitive spirit.

In other events, Georgia Hunter Bell secured a second-place finish in the women’s 1500m, trailing behind Poland’s Klaudia Kazimierska. Kazimierska clinched victory with a time of 3:57.55, narrowly edging out Hunter Bell by just 0.15 seconds. Hunter Bell’s strong performance throughout the season, which includes major championship victories, earned her a $75,000 prize for her runner-up position.

The women’s 100m race also witnessed a standout performance as world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden clocked the fastest time in the world this year, finishing in 10.62 seconds. Olympic champion Julien Alfred followed in second place with a time of 10.74 seconds, while Sha’Carri Richardson secured third place, completing the race in 10.76 seconds.
