Saudi Arabia and South Korea are strengthening their ties in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and technology investments following a series of high-level meetings in Seoul. The discussions, led by Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha and Communications, Space and Technology Commission Governor Haytham Al-Ohali, centered on areas such as AI, semiconductors, and the development of digital infrastructure.
During these meetings with senior South Korean officials, the focus was on fostering innovation and bolstering the digital economy. This aligns with Saudi Arabia’s vision to establish itself as a global leader in artificial intelligence. The talks also covered enhancing digital government services, exploring partnerships in unified government platforms, and improving public services through AI innovations. There was a particular emphasis on collaboration between Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority and South Korea’s Ministry of the Interior.
In addition to governmental discussions, Al-Swaha engaged with the founder and CEO of APL Ventures to discuss investment opportunities that could support Saudi startups. These conversations aimed at expanding the startups’ international market presence and encouraging further technology investments in Saudi Arabia.
This visit is a part of Saudi Arabia’s strategic plan to enhance global technology partnerships and attract high-value investments. By doing so, the Kingdom seeks to accelerate its development of an AI-driven digital economy. The collaboration with South Korea is a significant step in this broader strategy, focusing on creating a robust foundation for technological growth and innovation.
